Three hostages recovered

LARKANA, Jan 20: Police claimed to have recovered three kidnapped people after a two-hour encounter with outlaws in Ketti Mumtaz on Thursday morning.

The people recovered after 56 days were identified as Ajeet Kumar, Pawan Kumar and Natish Lal alias Bantee Lal. They were handed over to their relatives who had come from Shikarpur.

Talking to journalists, Sukkur region DIGP Mohammad Ramzan Channa, flanked by DPOs of Larkana and Shikarpur and City ASP, said police took the action on a nark's information.

He said no policeman was injured in the encounter and no weapons were recovered. He further said the outlaws fled towards Khairpur Mirs. He said the gang of Nizam alias Nizoo Atrani was involved in the kidnapping.

KILLED: A villager, Mohammad Sharif Khakhrani, was killed in an exchange of fire between two groups in the Jhangal Khakhrani village on Thursday. Police have registered an FIR.
