ISLAMABAD, Jan 8: A spokesman for the Senate Secretariat has dispelled an impression created by the publication of a news report about disallowing a debate on price hike in petroleum products by Senate Chairman.

Clarifying the position, the spokesman said that the motion was technically inadmissible as the subject matter of the motion was already under consideration of the Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources and that the issue was likely to be thoroughly looked into in a meeting of the committee scheduled to be held next week.

The report of the committee would be placed before the House for consideration and discussion, the spokesman said.-APP
