LAHORE, Jan 1: The PTCL admitted on Saturday that it could not install normal and prepaid phone connections in all areas of the provincial metropolis.

A large number of people in the city are facing problems in getting 'Aasan' prepaid phone connection.

A PTCL spokesman said: "It is a hard fact that in certain areas of Lahore, new connections either normal or prepaid can't be installed due to non-availability of network." However, he said the company had already chalked out a programme to expand its network and start Wireless Local Loop (WLL) service to facilitate customers.

The spokesman said in case of an 'Aasan' phone disconnection, it could be restored after paying two-month line rent in advance and Rs500 as restoration charges.

However, the connection could not be restored unless it was "technically" feasible, he added.
