KARACHI, Dec 25: Elections will be held in the Arts Council on Sunday.The candidates contesting for the post of vice-president are Syed Azfar Rizvi, Mian Mohammad Saeed and Khushbakht Shujaat. The candidates contesting for the post of honorary secretary are Aneeq Ahmed, Sohail Naqvi and Moin Akhtar. The candidates contesting for the post of treasurer are Rizwan Siddiqui, Perveen Javed and Naqqash Kazimi.

Those contesting for the governing body are Mohammad Ayub, Shahnaz Siddiqui, Saif-ur-Rehman Grami, Niaz Ahmed, Prof Sahar Ansari, Jawaid Saba, Kamal Ahmed Rizvi, Farhana Owais, Naila Jaffry, Ghulam Mohammad Gulab Chandio, Faisal Qureishi, Aijaz Aslam, Abdul Basit, Owais Adeeb Ansari, Haider Imam Rizvi, Kazim Pasha, Najamuddin Shaikh, Samina Pirzada, Nayyara Noor, Farah Nadeem, Naheed Raza, Seema Tahir, Dr Rehana Ali Shah, Ibrahim Nafees, Shaikh Asad Karim, Sarwar Javed, Subugtagin Saba, Mohammad Nasim, Arshad Sabri, Rehman Nishat, Mansoor Multani, Musarrat Afza Roohi, Azeem Haider Syed, Sulaiman Siddiqui and Humaira Rahat and Mohammad Yameen Khan.

A general body meeting will be held on Sunday at 10am which will be followed by polling that will begin at 2pm. Karachi District Coordination Officer Fazalur Rehman will preside over the general body meeting. Voters will be required to show their identity cards or their original membership cards of the Arts Council.
