KARACHI, Dec 18: Federal Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Justice (Retd) Abdul Razak Taheem, who is also co-chairman of the Food Support Programme's committee , on Saturday visited the office of the Pakistan Baitul Maal, Sindh, and held meetings with the officers to review the position of the Food Support Programme.

On the occasion, the minister directed that an effective monitoring system should be adopted in distribution of funds among the needy persons.

In this connection, officers of Baitul Maal should go to post office and ensure timely distribution as some complaints have been received from the interior of Sindh about delay in distribution.

The minister directed that the officers of Baitul Maal should work fast to ensure payment of due amount to the needy before Eidul Azha. He asked nazims and DCOs of various districts that all pending applications should be cleared and submit in the committee for final approval so that the payment could be arranged from Baitul Maal before Eidul Azha.-APP
