KARACHI, Dec 11: Pakistan Navy has inducted a hovercraft and a military assault boat into its marine force. A ceremony was held at the PNS Himalaya here at the Manora Island on Saturday morning.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Shahid Karimullah said that Pak Marines had proved their worth by an active participation in the country's internal security besides safeguarding the external security imperatives.

The chief of the naval staff stated that the induction of these state-of-the-art craft was a quantum leap in Pak Marines equipment inventory.

Earlier, Commander Karachi Rear-Admiral Asad Qureshi said that in order to increase mobility of Pak Marines, contracts to procure four hovercraft and four military assault boats had been signed with a British and a Thai company, respectively.-APP/PPI
