SHIKARPUR, Nov 18: Six members of a family, three of them women, were killed when an oil tanker hit a donkey-cart near Khwasti Brohi village on the Kandhkot-Shikarpur road on Thursday.

Five persons were on their way on a donkey-cart from Rahmatullah Brohi village to their fields for harvesting paddy crop when oil tanker hit them. As a result two brothers Atta Mohammad, 23, and Nabi Dad, 25, Shahdad, two sisters Lal Pari, 22, and Gulzadi, 14, both daughters of Wali Mohammad Brohi, and Khanzadi, 10, daughter of Mir Mohammad Brohi, were killed.

Their relative Shahzado Brohi was seriously injured who was referred to a Larkana hospital. The donkey was also killed and the cart was destroyed. The tanker driver managed to escape. The Khanpur police registered a case.

MINISTER: The federal minister for narcotics, Mr Ghous Bux Mahar, has said that no one will be allowed to take law in his hands. He was talking to newsmen on the occasion of an Eid Millan party hosted by Mir Babal Bhayo here on Thursday.

The minister criticized agitational politics and protest movement by the opposition and said there was no justification to do so.He said the government was determined to utilize all resources to improve the socio-economic condition of the country.

He advised the opposition to extend cooperation to the government and strengthen its hands for well-being of the masses.

Mr Mahar accused the politicians of creating law and order problems because they exercised their political influence on police to protect criminal elements.
