RAWALPINDI, Nov 16: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has directed the authorities concerned to use water resources properly, avoid water crisis in future and to build new water reservoirs so that water and energy needs of the country could be fulfilled.

He was speaking to Minister of State for Water and Power Engineer Amir Muqam who called on him in his camp office at Rawalpindi the other day.

Engineer Amir Muqam apprised President Musharraf of the problems in the NWFP in detail.

He told the president that the people of the NWFP thanked the president for the mega projects of Nowshersa-Chakdara-Chitral (NCC) road and Lawari tunnel.

These projects would help the province, particularly Malakand division, become economically prosperous and socially happier, he commented.

He told the president about the problems like general sales tax (GST) in Malakand division, the under-utilization of Saidu Sharif Airport and the problem of property rights to the people of Malakand fort (Qila).

The minister urged him to hand over the Chakdara-Mingora-Kalam road and Chwazakhela Besham to the National Highways Authority (NHA).-PPI
