SANGHAR, Nov 13: A boy, Vinod Kumar, 12, lost his one eye when a firecracker hit him in Khipro town on Saturday. Young boys of the Hindu community were playing fireworks on Diwali when a firecracker hit the boy in eye as a result his eyeball came out.

He was taken to a Karachi hospital.

DISPUTE: A dispute between two groups over the prayer leader of Eid in Khipro has not been resolved.

The two groups are at the loggerheads over the issue.

The Eid prayers are led by a Rangers' Maulvi for the last three or four years.

A meeting was held at the office of Taluka Nazim Khuda Bux Dars to resolve the dispute but the two factions did not agree.

However, it was decided that a Maulvi from the police headquarters, Sanghar will lead the Eid prayers.

JUMATUL WIDA: Prayers of Jumatul Wida (the last Friday of Ramazan) were offered in the city mosques under strict security.

A large number of the faithful attended the Friday congregations.

Beside the mosques, security was also beefed up at other public places like the railway station, telephone exchange and bus stands.

Additional police force was called from the Police Lines and the Police Training College, Shahdadpur.
