ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan here on Thursday announced launching of a nation-wide mobilization campaign after Eid for the restoration of full democracy in the country.

The announcement was made at an Iftar-dinner hosted by the PTI's president of Islamabad chapter Col (retired) Younas Ali Raza, secretary general Waqar Ahmed Raja and secretary information Feroz Ahmed Khan.

Urging the democratic forces to unite at this critical hour in a bid to put an end to rule of Gen Musharraf, Mr Khan said, he would travel to every nook and corner of the country and mobilize the countrymen for the restoration of true democracy in the country.

Mr Khan said masses were convinced that president Musharraf's policies had demoralised the people, crippled vital national institutions and turned national heroes into villains.

In the absence of credible judicial system, he said, the country's sovereignty had been totally compromised.

The history, he said, showed that the military government was neither competent nor had the right to rule. Any further continuation of the military's rule would come up with more disastrous consequences for the federation.

He demanded complete elimination of the army's role in politics and its immediate return to barrack by holding fresh elections under neutral caretaker government supervised by a completely independent election commission. And, consequently, complete transfer of power to the elected representatives, he said.

He also urged the workers and office-bearers to gear up efforts to complete the organizational tasks, which were assigned during the PTI's workers convention held last month.
