LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), Nov 11: A member of the Khyber Rifles was killed while another sustained bullet injury in an exchange of fire between law-enforcement agencies and anti-social elements during a raid at the hideout of kidnappers in Shalobar area of the Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency on Thursday.

The house of wanted kidnapper Naseeb Khan was jointly raided early on Thursday morning by members of the Khyber Rifles and Khasadar force under the command of Assistant Political Agent Bara Sayed Zaheerul Islam.

The joint force encircled the house and asked its inmates to surrender.

The inmates of the house retaliated with gunfire and attacked the raiding party with hand-grenades. The law-enforcement agencies returned fire and during the exchange of fire a member of Khyber Rifles, Nusrat Khan, was killed.
