MIRPURKHAS, Nov 11: A labourer died and two sustained injuries when a truck loaded with sand overturned on the Samaro-Kot Ghulam Mohammad road near Bhagat village on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Nandlal. Those injured, Kastoor Chand Meghwar and Amolakh Meghwar, were shifted to the taluka hospital in Kot Ghulam Mohammad.

The truck driver escaped after the incident.

CRIMINAL ASSAULT: A man lodged a case with the Satellite police here on Wednesday, alleging that his teenage son has been criminally assaulted by a rickshaw driver.

According to the FIR, while Irfan Ali, 13, resident of Ratanabad, was going home on Monday, rickshaw driver Mohammad Shahid took him to a house in Ali Town on some pretext. After administering him an intoxicating drink, he criminally assaulted the boy.

On Tuesday morning, the accused left Irfan at the city bus terminal after giving him Rs 50.

On Wednesday, his father lodged a case under section 377, 341 and 337-J of the PPC and 12 of the Zina Hudood Ordinance against Shahid.

According to the victim, some other men were also present at the house when he was criminally assaulted.

SUICIDE: A youth committed suicide by immolating himself at his house in Lalchandabad here on Tuesday night.

Mohammad Sultan, 19, sprinkled kerosene on his body and set himself ablaze as a result he sustained serious burn injuries.

He was shifted to the Civil Hospital and later referred to a Hyderabad hospital where he died on Wednesday.The reason behind the suicide is said to be a delay in his marriage.
