QUETTA, Nov 10: The Frontier Corps on Wednesday seized a huge quantity of drugs and ammunition from the Chagai area close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

According to FC sources, Afghan smugglers had brought a huge quantity of fine-quality morphine and illegal ammunition into Chagai from Afghanistan for dispatching it to European countries and the Gulf through the Makran coast.

On receiving information, FC troops cordoned off the area and launched a search. They recovered 1,195kg of morphine and illegal ammunition during the operation.

The drug consignment and ammunition had been dumped underground.
