GHALLANAI (Mohmand Agency), Nov 8: A representative jirga of the Haleemzai tribe on Monday held meetings with the Mohmand Agency political agent and the commandant of the Mohmand Rifles to resolve the issue of the killing of a tribesman by MR personnel.

The jirga first met Political Agent Sahibzada Mohammad Anees and later held talks with MR Commandant Col Khalid Butt and discussed with them the situation, said a delegate while talking to newsmen after the meetings.

It was decided that the PA and the commandant would visit the victim's residence on Tuesday to seek pardon for the troops involved and offer Fateha for the deceased.

One tribesman was killed and another injured after a contingent of the Mohmand Rifles opened fire on them. Officials said the firing was the result of a 'misunderstanding'.
