VEHARI, June 3: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents on the Vehari-Luddan Road on Monday.

Nawaz Bhatti of Chak 35-WB was going on a motorcycle when his two-wheeler collided with a cart. He sustained critical injuries and died on the spot.

In another incident, an unidentified old man was crushed by a car while crossing the road.

INJURED: Five policemen, including an SHO, were injured in a road mishap on the Vehari-Burewala Road here on Monday.

City SHO Qazi Basit, ASI Sharif, constables Javed, Iqbal Masih and Nasir were coming to Vehari from Sahoka village after raiding the hideout of criminals. Near Chak 7/WB, some six kilometres from here, their speeding vehicle (9584-VRD) rammed into a roadside tree as its steering went out of driver’s control. All the policemen received serious injuries and were admitted to the local DHQ Hospital.
