KARACHI, Nov 2: Pakistan Women's Cricket Control Association (PWCCA) on Tuesday reacted to statement of Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar M. Khan regarding formation of a new women players' body.

A spokesman of PWCCA clarified that the PWCCA, established since 1996, is a registered body under corporate law and got due recognition, endorsement and affiliation from then the PCB Council and because of that, PWCCA become the member of International Women's Cricket Council (IWCC) and granted full Test status in 1997.

PWCCA said because of this IWCC membership, Pakistan team took part in 6th Women's World Cup in India, toured Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Ireland and hosted teams of Holland and West Indies in Pakistan in addition to their participation in IWCC qualifying trophy in Holland.

In recognition of above facts, PCB chairman granted complimentary use of National Stadium Karachi for the historic women's Test match against West Indies in March 2004.-APP
