SUKKUR, Nov 2: On the orders of the National Accountability Bureau, an FIR was registered on Tuesday against nine railway police officials of the Rohri railway police station.

Ali Mardan Mahar, a railway contractor, had filed an application before the NAB, stating that two months ago the railway police officials illegally seized his van and motorcycle, which were returned to him after he paid Rs20,000 to the officials.

Those booked included former Rohri railway SHO Zulfiqar Langah, ASI Abdul Sattar and head constable Jawed.

DEVELOPMENT SCHEME: District Nazim Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the district government is determined to provide basic facilities to people of rural and urban areas without any discrimination.

Keeping this in view, he added, a number of development schemes had been initiated in various sectors.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the five-room Government Boys Primary School in Qalander Shah Mohallah of the Pano Aqil city.

He said that the scheme had been completed at a cost of Rs.1.3 million under the Annual Development Programme 2003-4.

The nazim also inaugurated two roads, one from the National Highway to Akhtiar Indhar village and other from Katcha Phatak to Saeed Ali Indhar village.

Both the schemes have been completed at a cost of Rs17 million under the ADP and the Drought Emergency Relief Assistance programme.
