MIRPURKHAS, Oct 31: The Sindh Pakistan Muslim League-N has expressed grief over the death of Mian Mohammad Sharif, father of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, party joint secretary Abdul Majeed Rajput, Raja Tanvir, Shafqat Cheema, Siraj and others expressed condolence with the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad District PML-N vice-president Sultan Shaikh has criticized non-payment of Zakat to deserving people of the district, report our bureau.
Talking to a group of women who met him at his residence here on Sunday, Mr Shaikh said the non-payment spoke volumes about insensitivity of authorities concerned.
The women complained that they had been living in abject poverty but they had not been paid Zakat for one year.
Mr Shaikh, who is also the president of the Hyderabad Shehri Mahaz, demanded that the government should immediately appoint new Zakat administrators for Hyderabad and ensure distribution of Zakat among the poor before Eidul Fitr.
He warned that if Zakat was not distributed among the deserving people before Eid, a protest movement would be launched against the authorities.
