TOBA TEK SINGH, Oct 31: Stockists have raised the price of a 100kg sugar bag by Rs30. Stockists told this correspondent on Sunday that the stocks of the Kamalia Sugar Mills, Chaudhry Sugar Mills, Gojra, Kashmir Sugar Mills , Shorkot, and Shakarganj Sugar Mills, Jhang, had almost been exhausted. Millions of sugar bags in these mills were owned by the government.

These bags had been purchased by the government from the mills for export to financially support the millowners when they were demanding a permission to export the commodity some months ago. They said as the sugar stocks were exhausting in the market, its price was increasing day by day.

However, Kamalia Sugar Mills manager Maj Athar (retired) said his mills had a sufficient sugar stock hoping there would be no shortage in Ramazan.

INJURED: Some POs injured the sister of their former ring leader, Ali Raza, who was killed some three months back in an encounter with police in Vehari.

Akhtari Bibi was injured and admitted to the Kamalia THQ hospital from where she was shifted to Faisalabad hospital.

Ali Raza had formed his gang a few years ago, but it split following a quarrel over the distribution of the booty. He along with two aides was killed by the police in Vehari. Akhtari Bibi had luckily saved in this encounter.
