LAHORE, Oct 30: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said a task force should be constituted to propose measures to check the industrial robberies. He stressed the need for constituting the task force during a meeting with a delegation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry , which called on him in Islamabad. The government, he said, was making all possible efforts for improving the law and order situation in the country.
He said the economic environment in the country was favourable for investment and a project had been launched for the promotion of businesses. The government had offered a number of incentives to the investors, he said, also giving out that the taxation system was being simplified.
He added the anti-smuggling network was being strengthened for protecting the industry against unfair competition from smuggled goods.
Chamber delegation, led by its president Mian Misbahur Rehman, discussed the overall business scenario of the country with the prime minister and stressed the need for initiating steps for improving law and order, checking smuggling and removing lacunas in the taxation system.
The delegation comprised chamber office-bearers and executive committee members.
