KARACHI, Oct 30: Teachers of the Adamjee Government Science College have demanded permanent deployment of Rangers at the college claiming that outsiders were playing havoc with the academic life at the institution.

Teaching remained suspended on Saturday after teachers boycotted their duties to register their protest against the "continued interference of outsiders belonging to a students organization for the last two weeks". A senior teacher said that students had been made hostage to the group of outsiders, which collected 'bhatta' and behaved rudely with the students and teachers.

Due to the nuisance created by the outsiders, students were avoiding coming to the college, and as such the attendance had decreased by 50 per cent. Teachers would decide their further line of action on Monday.

In the meantime, a group of college teachers also called on the EDO Higher Education on Saturday and apprised him about the problems.
