TOBA TEK SINGH, Oct 30: A six-year-old girl was raped after abduction here on Saturday at Gojra. Reports said 'A' of Naushahianwala was on her way home from school when a cyclist told her that her mother was ill and calling her immediately. The girl went with the accused who took her to some unknown place, raped her and threw her in Usman Town area.

After regaining consciousness at the hospital, she told her parents about the incident. Doctors have confirmed that the girl has been raped.

Police have registered a case.

DEATH AWARDED: Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Muhammad Iqbal on Saturday awarded death sentence to a person and acquitted five co-accused in a murder case.

Convict Shahbaz Hussain and his accomplices had shot dead Ashraf of Chak 357 JB over an old enmity a year ago. The court acquitted the co-accused by giving them the benefit of the doubt.

SHO ORDERED: Additional District and Sessions Judge Nadeem Gulzar on Saturday ordered the City SHO to report to the DPO till Nov 1 after registering a case against PTCL supervisor Muhammad Afzal.

The court had ordered the registration of case for producing a fake letter during the process of an inquiry against the PTCL official.

Complainant Abdul Naeem stated that the SHO was reluctant to register case against the supervisor.

CONDOLENCE: Former MNA M Hamza has condoled the death of Mian Muhammad Sharif, father of former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif.

In a press statement issued here on Saturday, he said Mian Sharif was a great man who served the poor and needy people.

PML-N district secretary-general Rana Muhammad Anwar and youth wing divisional president Chaudhry Amjad Ali Javed have also condoled the death and termed it a great loss for the Sharif family.
