BANNU, Oct 30: Two people were killed and one was injured in different incidents here on Saturday. Noor Mal, son of Eider Jan, was shot dead allegedly by seven men while he was coming to his village Dalukhel Bakakhel accompanied by his cousin Mare Gula , wife of Noor Ali Jan.

She told the Bakakhel police station that when they reached near the village they were attacked by Jalandher, son of Khan Shereen, resident of Kalikhel Bakakhel, and his six accomplices. As a result of the attack, Noor Mal died on the spot while a passerby, Ahmad Jan, son of Daud Khan, received a bullet injury. He was taken to the Bannu DHQ hospital.

The Bakakhel police station have registered a case and are investigating.

The motive behind the murder was stated to be an old enmity between the two families.

In another incident, Mir Taj Ali Khan, son of Mira Jan, was shot dead by three assailants near the Janikhel checkpoint.

One Waliullah, a nephew of the victim, told the police that they were going in a Datsun pick-up when three masked men opened fire on the vehicle near the Janikhel checkpost, killing Mir Taj Ali Khan on the spot. The attackers fled from the area after the incident.
