SRINAGAR, Oct 28: A Muslim civilian, a freedom fighter and an Indian trooper were killed and six houses damaged in two clashes between Mujahideen and security forces in occupied Kashmir, police said on Thursday.

The clash in which the Indian soldier was killed occurred in Budgam, a police spokesman said.

"A civilian caught in the crossfire was also killed," he said, adding that another soldier was injured during the fighting. The Indian forces sealed off the area and launched house-to-house searches for militants, in the course of which they found a freedom fighter hiding under a heap of grass on Thursday afternoon.

The militant was killed in a fire-fight, the spokesman said, adding that a rifle was found on his body.

A Muslim woman in a neighbouring house died of a heart attack as the fight broke out, the spokesman added.

Six houses were damaged in a fire-fight between militants and troops in Baramulla overnight, the spokesman said.-AFP
