ISLAMABAD, Oct 21: The first meeting of the committee, constituted by the prime minister to consider hindrance in the promotions of mid-career police officers, was held here on Thursday. Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao presided over the meeting.

The meeting was attended by secretary establishment, secretary cabinet, inspector general motorway police and other officials.

It was decided that next meeting of the committee would take place to finalize the suggestions. It was agreed that with the promotion and through addressing career grievances efficiency of the service would be enhanced manifolds.

It was also decided that in the next meeting ways would be finalized to improve the situation and a final report would be submitted to the prime minister.
