LAHORE, Oct 20: Kashmir Action Committee president and leading physician of the city Dr Maj Muzaffar Shah (retired) was laid to rest in Gulberg graveyard here on Wednesday.

His body had arrived from Edinburgh in the morning and taken to his house in Gulberg. Dr Shah had died in Edinburgh after a brief illness.

A large number of people, mostly from the medical profession and the Kashmiris attended his funeral. Prominent among them were Lahore High Court's former chief justice Sardar Muhammad Iqbal, Dr Mubashir Hassan, Senator S.M. Zafar, Air Marshal Khurshid Anwar Mirza (retired), Punjab University's former vice-chancellor Dr Khairat Muhammad Ibne Rasa, Dr A.U.Lone, Azad Kashmir Assembly member Ghulam Mohyuddin, Kashmiri leaders Lateef Chughtai, Khwaja Mohyuddin Lone, Aziz Butt, Mirza Sadiq, S.M.Zaman and Farooq Azad. Qul will be held at 3pm on Thursday at his residence 38-D-1. Gulberg-III, in the lane opposite TCS office.
