NAROWAL, Oct 19: Police arrested more than 50 students here on Tuesday for blocking the road and damaging vehicles.

Reports said two student groups of Islamia degree college clashed with each other a few days back as a result the college management lodged a complaint with the police. Later, the students brought out a rally against the management and forced the boys of three high schools to join them.

The protesters reportedly blocked traffic at Jassar Morr Bypass Road and broke screens of vehicles. Later, the police baton-charged the students and registered two cases against them.

DISRUPTION: The district remained cut off with the world for nine hours on Monday due to the failure of all kinds of communication services, including PTCL, and other mobile companies.

Reports said the communication network disrupted at 12 noon causing a great deal of inconvenience to the people. The service was restored at 9pm. According to the PTCL officials, the disruption was due to some technical fault.
