PESHAWAR, Oct 19: A World Health Organization Country Cooperation Strategies mission is visiting the four provinces from Wednesday to discuss the planning, budgeting and utilization of funds to improve the healthcare scenario in the country, WHO Emergency Medical Officer Dr Quaid Saeed has said.

The team is scheduled to visit Abbottabad on Wednesday and meet district health officials and the partner organizations.

Dr Saeed said the strategies reflected a four to six years vision of the WHO for its cooperation with a country and clarified its roles and functions in supporting the national health and development frameworks.

The mission would stay in the country till the end of the month to hold talks with health officials and representatives of non-government organizations in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar, he said.

Later, a document would be prepared, which would act as a guideline for the WHO and the provincial health departments for the implementation of the strategies, he said.
