KARACHI, Oct 17: The city government has started the issuance of lease to the residents of 278 kutchi abadis with the advent of Ramazan.

For this purpose, the city government will set up lease camps at Mominabad and Dilji Nagar in Orangi Town at 3pm and at Jalalabad in Liaquatabad Town at 9.30pm on Oct 18.

Earlier, City Nazim Naimatullah Khan had inaugurated the first lease camp at Furqanabad, Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town on Saturday.

On 5th Ramazan, lease camps will be held at Qayyumabad in Korangi Town at 3pm and at Gizri in Saddar Town at 9.30pm. On 7th Ramazan the camps will be set up at Bhutta Village in Keamari Town at 3pm and at Manzoor Colony in Jamshed Town at 9.30pm. On 9th Ramazan, lease camps will be set up at Omer Farooq and Usman Ghani Colony in North Nazimabad Town at 3pm and at Frontier Colony in SITE Town at 9.30pm.

On 11th Ramazan, camps will be inaugurated at Muzaffarabad Colony in Landhi Town at 3pm and at Morio Khan Goth in Shah Faisal Town at 9.30pm. On 13th Ramazan, camps will be set up at Abidabad in Orangi Town at 3pm and Haji Murid Goth in Liaquatabad Town at 9.30pm. On 15th Ramazan, camps will be opened at Gulshan- i-Bahar, Ghaziabad, Bangla Bazaar and Bilal Colony in Orangi Town at 3pm.

The kutchi abadis department of city government has asked the residents of these localities to approach their respective union councils to get their lease file on payment of Rs25 and submit the same there alongwith required documents. The scrutiny committee will issue the lease within a fortnight after scrutiny of documents submitted.-APP
