PESHAWAR, Oct 16: A 40-member representative delegation comprising prominent elders of the Khogakhel Tribe of the Mohmand Agency called on NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah at the Governor's House here on Saturday.

The jirga, which was led by a former NWFP minister Iftikhar Khan Mohmand, apprised the governor of some of their problems and difficulties.

Secretary to Governor Sahibzada Saeed Ahmad, Fata Secretary Of Security Brig. Mahmood Shah, and Mohmand Agency Political Agent Sahibzada Muhammad Anees were also present on this occasion.

Talking to the Jirga the Governor lauded services and sacrifices of the Khogakhel tribe which they had rendered for Pakistan and said that their love, respect and unflinching attachment to the country would always be remembered and honoured.

The governor assured the jirga that they would not only continue to enjoy the existing privileges and concessions but these would be further increased substantially.

The governor also said that rapid development was already in progress in the Khawaizai-Baizai areas and efforts were under way to provide facilities in educational, health as well as other related social sectors.

The Khogakhel Tribe, he added, could also benefit from these facilities.
