AJK Council passes Rs2.7bn budget

ISLAMABAD, Sept 18: The 35th session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council on Saturday passed the budget of the Council for the year 2004-2005 for Rs2712.8 million and the revised estimates of Rs2336.99m for the year 2003-2004.

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz who is also the chairman of the council presided over the session.

Minister Incharge AJK Council Secretariat, Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, had presented the budget in the first sitting of the council held on Sept 16.

The minister incharge also presented the report for the Auditor General of AJK/ Pakistan regarding Finance/ Appropriation Accounts and audit Report for the year 2003-2004 of AJK council.

The council also passed AJ&K Council Income tax (Adaptation and Validation) Act, 2004.

The session was attended among others by AJK president Sardar Mohammad Anwar.-APP
