KARACHI, Sept 18: Sindh government will direct all banks and money-changers to install close-circuit cameras with recording and printing facilities, besides jammers for cell phones, in their premises.

Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui said this while presiding over a high-level meeting at the Central Reporting Cell of the Citizen Police Liaison Committee on Saturday.

He also proposed that the CPLC network be expanded across the province under the Police Order-2002, so that the entire population of Sindh could benefit from it. "A CPLC linkage at national-level is needed in this regard," he said.

The minister said that condition of the vehicles standing due to non-auction since 1998 had become worse, which was causing financial loss to national exchequer.

He directed the officials concerned to take measure to auction the vehicles ensuring transparency in the process.

The CPLC chief, Sharifuddin Memon, said that the CPLC was playing a vital role in preventing vehicles' thefts and had also proved effective in recovery of these vehicles.

Establishment of National Vehicle Authority was also under consideration for data management to recover the stolen vehicles, he informed the meeting.

"A proposal is also under consideration to streamline mobile, pay-phone and security companies in this regard," he informed.-PPI
