KARACHI, Sept 11: Mohammad Usman and Mohammad Nadeem ran riot with hat tricks in Railways thumping 16-0 victory over minnows Islamabad in the NBP junior hockey tournament at Hockey Club of Pakistan on Saturday.

Railways were on fast track from the first whistle as six-goal Usman slammed home the opening goal with the game barely three minutes old, while Nadeem doubled the lead in the 11th minute.

Usman went on a goal-spree to complete his hat trick within seven minutes when he came into action in the 13th minute, 14th minute and 20th minutes to make it 5-0.

Nadeem was even better as he achieved his treble within a space of four minutes, rifling home in the 20th, 24nd and 26th minutes to complete the misery of the Islamabad.

Two goals by Shahbaz Ali in the 26th and 36th minutes were followed by two more by Usman, while Shahbaz again struck for his third in the 46th minute before Mohammad Asif scored twice and Mohsin Ali got one to complete the tally.

KESC broke intosweat before carving a 4-2 triumph over afighting Balochistan in another match.

The local side got off to a fine start with an Uzeer Ahmad goal in the second minute, but were shocked when Balochistan put the game on an even keel ten minutes before going for the break, converting a penalty stroke through Khurram Shahzad. The wake-up call forced KESC to get their acts together two minutes later as they took the lead through Samiullah.

Noman Zakir's 41st-minute strike put KESC in a better position while Uzeer got his second in the 48th minute. Balochistan, however, threatened KESC by reducing the margin with a penalty corner conversion by Khurram in the 51 minute.

In another lop-sided affair in the morning, helped by five-goal Majid Khan PTCL swamped NWFP 13-0.

The winners raced to a 6-0 lead before the breather, starting with a Majid goal in the fifth minute and enhancing the ascendancy through Zubair who found the cage the next minute, while Akhtar Ali was on target in the 19th minute.

Mohammad Arif increased the lead in the 21st minute followed by two goals from Majid in the 28th and 34th minutes.

Majid (48th, 63rd minutes), Atif Yaqoob (44th minute), Shakeel Abbasi (59thminute), Waqas (65th minute), Akhtar (66th minute) and Arif (69th minute) completed the rout.
