KARACHI, July 31: A woman and a youth died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Saturday. Police said that a couple was going on a motorcycle when it was hit by a speeding minibus in Shah Faisal Colony. They said that Najma, wife of Qaiser, died in the accident. She was immidiately taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced her dead.

In a hit-and-run accident, a young man was knocked down to death within the limits of Shah Latif police station.

Police said that Mohammad Majeed, 20, was crossing the main road when he was knocked down by a speeding vehicle. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

CLASH: A young man died and three others were wounded in a clash in Azizabad on Friday night.

Police said that Azhar Maqbool, 24, was sitting with his cousin Shahzad in Block-2 of Azizabad, when three young men - Rizwan, Irfan and Amjad - came there and exchanged words. In the clash, Rizwan opened indiscriminate firing with his pistol resulting in death of Azhar Maqbool and injuring Shahzad. Following the incident, Rizwan escaped from the spot, police added.

According to the police, the accomplices of Rizwan - Irfan and Amjad - also suffered bullet wounds in the incident.

Later, Maqsood Ali, brother of Azhar Maqbool, lodged an FIR against the suspects.
