ISLAMABAD, July 24: A ten-member delegation from Thailand headed by Burhanuddin Useng called on deputy speaker National Assembly Sardar Mohammad Yaqub at the Parliament House on Saturday.

Mr Yaqub said cordial relations existed between the parliaments of Thailand and Pakistan, which needed to be further strengthened. He was of the view that there should be a regular exchange of views and consolidations between the parliaments of the two countries.

He said there should also be regular exchange of trade delegations, intellectuals, students, scientists and journalists which would help develop better understanding amongst each other.

Mr Useng thanked the government of Pakistan for extending hospitality and spoke of close fraternal relationships between the two countries.

The delegation also appreciated the decision of Pakistan for giving participatory role to women in politics.

The delegation agreed that there should be parliamentary and people-to-people contact to further consolidate ties between both the countries.
