ISLAMABAD, July 22: Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro and Indian External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh on Thursday agreed to enhance cooperation between parliaments of the two countries through frequent exchange of visits of parliamentarians.
The Indian minister told newsmen after his meeting with Mr Soomro at his residence: "We have agreed to form a group of young parliamentarians of both the countries for strengthening ties between the two parliaments."
He said officials of the two countries would soon work out a plan of visits of parliamentarians.
He said he and the Senate chairman discussed parliaments, friendship and diplomacy but not politics.
He said relations between Pakistan and India would improve after his visit. "I also invited Mr Soomro to visit India," he said.
The Senate chairman said he had accepted the invitation but the dates would be worked out between the two foreign offices.
