KARACHI, July 3: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority, Sindh, received around 100 complaints from all over the province against poor and faulty Cable TV service during the month of June last.

The details about these complaints were placed at the monthly meeting of Council of Complaints (CoC) of PEMRA held here at its regional office.

The council was informed about the action taken on these complaints.

The meeting was also informed about the enforcement team's performance, which detected so many illegal cable operations during this month in the province and the efforts of regional office in brining these illegal cable operators in PEMRA net.

In order to create awareness among the masses about the role of the complaint council for the redressal of subscribers grievances against the service of CTV operators, it was decided in the meeting to hold seminars in the divisional head quarters of the province.

It also advised all subscribers to lodge complaints against Cable TV service at PEMRA regional office UAN No.111-736-111.

The council also took serious notice against some of the operators showing banned/proscribed channels particularly during the night and decided to take stern legal action against the violators.

The meeting was chaired by the CoC Commissioner Nazim F.Haji and was attended by the CoC members and PEMRA officials. -PPI
