ISLAMABAD, June 12: Utter chaos and mismanagement prevailed as the Press Information Department (PID) distributed the budget documents to the journalists here on Saturday.

A number of journalists said the mismanagement could have been avoided if the PID had put its house in order regarding distribution of the important budget document.

They said the PID had the names of the journalists covering the assembly proceedings and the budget documents could have been given to them while they entered or left the press gallery.

However, on its part, the PID staff blamed the journalists for the disorder, saying everyone wanted to have a copy without following any discipline. "Journalists are behaving like the most ill-disciplined and uneducated lot," a PID staff member was heard commenting on the pushing and shoving witnessed on the occasion.

A number of senior journalists blamed the disorderly distribution for the chaos, and said, for the last few years, the same mismanagement characterized the distribution of the important financial document.
