MANSEHRA, June 5: Five persons were arrested and five others were at large in a case registered after a clash between two groups on the possession of a mosque here on Friday.

During the clashes, the police resorted to baton charge and teargas shelling resulting in injuries to 11 people, including four policemen.

Later, police locked the mosque.

Maulana Qazi Wasiur Rehman, pesh imam of Jamia Masjid at Shinkiari, his rival Bashir Khan, and eight others were booked under sections 153 (A), 147, 148, 341 and 16 of the PPC and MPO.

Siraj Ahmed, Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Ashiq and Mohammed Bashir were taken into custody while the rest, including a councillor, were at large.
