KARACHI: Two die in accidents

KARACHI, May 29: Two people died in road accidents at different places in the city on Saturday. Police said that two people on a motorcycle were hit by a speeding water tanker near Ghani Chowrangi in SITE. The tanker driver sped away after the accident, witnesses told the police.

As a result of the accident, Rameez, 20, and Hanif, 30, suffered injuries and were taken to hospital where Rameez was pronounced dead on arrival.

In Baghdadi, a speeding minibus of route F-6 knocked down a 20-year-old lady schoolteacher, who was waiting for a bus. She died on the spot and was later identified as Shahida Wakeel. Her body was taken to hospital for autopsy.

MURDER: A hairdresser was shot dead by bandits in Gulberg late Saturday night.

Police said that Ahmed Bux, 55, closed his shop and as he unlocked his motorcycle, two armed men ordered him to hand over the keys.

Ahmed Bux refused and resisted upon which the bandits shot him and took away his motorcycle. Ahmed died on the spot and his body was shifted to hospital for autopsy.
