KARACHI, May 22: A man killed his wife and step-daughter in his home in New Karachi on Saturday and later surrendered himself to the police.

New Karachi Industrial Area police said that Omar Baloch, a resident of Khamiso Goth, allegedly killed his wife Mehran Bibi, 40, on suspicion of infidelity.

He told the police that he had been warning her of mending her ways. In a fit of anger, he axed his wife to death.

He said that when his wife's daughter Farzana, 20, from first her husband, tried to save her mother, he also axed her and she died on the spot. Farzana was married and was the mother of an infant.

The police shifted the bodies to a hospital for autopsies.

BODY FOUND: The body of a youth was found in a gunny bag with torture marks in Soldier Bazaar on Saturday.

Police said the gunny bag was lying on a footpath in Parsi Colony in Soldier Bazaar police limits. The police opened it and found the blood-stained body of an unidentified youth.

The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for autopsy where doctors said that torture marks were visible all around the body and the death was caused by a bullet which pierced through his chest. His head was also hit with a sharp-edged weapon.

Police said a college card was found on him without a photograph. The college card bears the name of Rizwan Khan.

Besides, two national identity cards bearing two different names were also found on the body with addresses in Baldia Town, the police said.

The body was found in the morning and police could not find out the addresses till night and the body remained unidentified.
