HYDERABAD, May 1: Members of the City Taluka Council criticized nazims of the City Taluka Union councils on Friday for passing a resolution on April 27 seeking action against Taluka Nazim Haji Moinuddin Sheikh.

The council adopted the resolution of Anwar Chundrigar who had raised the issue on a point of order but later drafted a resolution rejecting the allegations levelled against Mr Sheikh.

He asserted that the district council convener should not allow resolutions aimed at character assassination of any elected representative to be adopted.

However, member Abdul Waheed Qureshi criticized the taluka Nazim.

Iqbal Kaimkhani said district council members were responsible for execution of development funds but due to their incompetency, funds had lapsed which indicated that they had failed to discharge their duties diligently.

Union council-13 Naib Nazim Usman Abbasi said that the UC Nazim had provoked people to block a recently-constructed road that was damaged during a protest against non-supply of water in the area and added that the UC Nazim should have obtained permission from the taluka Nazim.

The members also urged the UC-18 Nazim to pay Rs200,000 for renovation of his office in Phulelli by the city taluka municipal administration instead of raising eye-brows.

SPSC: The Sindh Public Service Commission has announced names of successful candidates who appeared in interviews conducted for various posts of BPS-18 in the Sindh health department.
