Meeting on SMEs

KARACHI, April 2: The first meeting of the Task Force for SME Policy Development will be held in Islamabad on Tuesday to frame comprehensive policies for the growth of small and medium enterprises in the country.

Federal Secretary Ministry of Industries and Production Javaid Ashraf Husain will chair the meeting. The meeting will discuss the concept paper prepared by the Small and Medium Enterprise Development (Smeda).

Sources said that the task force was constituted under Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded project "SME Sector Development Programme" on February 27 this year.

All the stakeholders have been invited to attend the meeting to discuss the current status of SMEs including definition, taxation, financing, labour laws, HRD, technology transfer, market and industry, law and order, intellectual property rights, etc.-APP
