LAHORE, March 27: The Data Ganj Bakhsh Town Council's monthly session could not be held on Saturday due to lack of quorum on account of local holiday.

Town Naib Nazim Mian Muhammad Usman had convened the session for discussion on a number of resolutions on the town problems tabled by the councillors and scores of development schemes proposed by the works department.

Mian Rashed Iqbal informed the Naib Nazim about lack of quorum soon after the house had congratulated Town Municipal Officer Liaquat Ali Bhatti on his promotion to the next grade. The Naib Nazim adjourned the house for half an hour but the number of members decreased instead of increasing when the house met again. The Naib Nazim was left with no option but to adjourn it.
