LAHORE, March 20: The Old Associates of Kinnaird Society (OAKS), including members from India, on Saturday celebrated the Old Students Day.

OAKS president Surraya Anwar said they were moving across the borders to remove mistrusts and know each others. "Though the men fight wars, women always propagate peace."

She said educated women should continue to pressure their governments to strengthen peace in the region.

Golden OAKS president Priyo Batra said there were around 200 OAKS living in Delhi. Even an 86-year-old member of the delegation attended all functions without showing tiredness, she claimed.

"It is the feeling of coming to the alma mater that did not let any member feel tired," she added.

Prem Krishnan said the Golden OAKS had kept the feeling of KC alive in India.

She said her visit to Lahore reminded her of her youth and childhood days.

Jamila Verghese said there was absolutely no difference between Delhi and Lahore. "Difference between the two is for those who want to create difference," she added.

Ms Verghese said Pakistan and India were like two bodies and one soul. Lalita Narain sang a song.

Later, a skit The Indians are coming was staged. The play was written by Ms Tamkinat.
