LAHORE, March 6: PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif has summoned some important leaders of his party to London for exchange of views on various issues. Party sources say that the former Punjab chief minister will hold consultations with them about his return to Pakistan.

Those who are expected to go to London include Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Khwaja Saad Rafiq and Farrukh Shah.

Mian Shahbaz Sharif had said recently that he would come back to Pakistan, defying the so-called banishment accord. However, he had said that he would set a date keeping in mind the situation at home.

He has reportedly asked his party leaders not to set dates for his return.

PML-N: The PML-N launched the election campaign of its candidate for Union Council No 73 (Gowalmandi) Jawwad Akhtar on Saturday with a criticism of the government's failure to overcome wheat flour shortages and the consequential increase in its prices.

MNA Khwaja Saad Rafiq said the common man would starve as a result of the shortage. He said the rulers were out against the opposition while the latter was striving to resist dictatorship. The people of Lahore, he claimed, were with exiled former prime minister Mian nawaz Sharif in the past and would remain with him in the future.

MNA Pervaiz Malik warned that any attempt by the government to rig the polls would be frustrated. Lahore President Mian Muhammad Haneef, Data Ganj Bux Town Nazim Khwaja Ahmed Hassaan and Nasir Iqbal Khan also addressed.
