Pakistan calls to save lives in Haiti

UNITED NATIONS, Feb 28: Pakistan has called upon the international community to take immediate action to save lives of people in Haiti and alleviate human sufferings.

Speaking at the UN Security Council emergency meeting convened to discuss the situation in Haiti, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, Masood Khalid, observed that Pakistan shared the concerns of other council members over the humanitarian and human rights situation in Haiti.

He said the situation in Haiti has been viewed with growing concern in recent weeks due to the deteriorating political and humanitarian situation.-APP
