QUETTA: 24 clerks held in Quetta

QUETTA, Feb 28: Police arrested around 24 striking government employees for taking out an illegal procession, here on Saturday. The President All Pakistan Clerks Association, Balochistan, Mohammad Yousuf was also arrested by the police who was leading the protest procession.

Protesting clerks gathered in front of Quetta Press Club for taking out a protest procession in support of their charter of demands. They chanted slogans against the government for not accepting their demands.

Police asked the protesting clerks to disperse as their procession was illegal and a violation of Section 144. The clerks refused upon which the police baton-charged and dispersed the government employees and arrested 24, including their leaders.
