HYDERABAD, Feb 21: Latifabad Taluka Municipal Administration staff observed a pen-down strike here on Saturday to protest against a firing incident in the office of Taluka Nazim Abdul Jabbar Khan.
The staff members wore black arm-bands and demanded that the accused should be arrested.
The staff members of 17 union councils of Latifabad also observed a pen-down strike to express solidarity with the Nazim.
A strike was also observed in the Hussainabad area where shops remained closed in protest against the incident.
On Thursday gunmen had barged into the office of the taluka Nazim and resorted to firing, injuring Raja Tasadduq Ali who was holding a meeting with the Nazim.
CASES REGISTERED: The Latifabad B-section police on Thursday registered two separate cases against four accused - Khalid Butt, his brother Riffat Butt, Rashid and Anis.
Complainant Mohammad Ishaq lodged an FIR against the accused under sections 324 of the Qisas and Diyat Ordinance, and 504 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The second case was lodged by TMO Majeed Rajput against the same accused on the ground that they intruded into the office and resorted to firing.
