TCP sells 10,000 tons soyabean oil

KARACHI, Feb 14: Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) on Saturday disposed of 10,000 tons of imported soyabean oil at more than Rs485.077 million through an auction.

According to TCP, the auction was held at Corporation's Lahore office where a large number of ghee and cooking oil units and commercial importers participated in the bidding.

The auction price ranged between Rs48,505 to Rs481,515 per ton. TCP had floated a tender on January 28, 2004 for sale of 10,000 tons soyabean oil which was imported from Japanese non-project grant.

The quantity sold included two lots of 100 tons, two lots of 250 tons and 13 lots of 500 tons.

Meanwhile, the TCP has floated a tender for the auction of 8,000 tons beef packer tallow imported from the US under Pakistan FFP Programme FY 2003.

According to the TCP, the auction will be held at Corporation's head office on February 19, 2004.

The TCP will offer 20 lots each of 50 and 100 tons, 10 lots of 250 tons and five lots of 500 tons.

The oil has been stored at International Tank Terminal, West Wharf of Karachi Port.-APP
